ABCCM – Transformation Village

SECU Foundation awarded a Challenge Grant to Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) to assist in the construction of Phase I of Transformation Village, a 90-bed transitional housing facility and community center. ABCCM provides services to address poverty, homelessness, and access to healthcare for the underserved population of Western NC. Phase I of Transformation Village will provide an extensive system of support for residents, including counseling and life skills training, and on-site nutrition and healthcare services through the community center. ABCCM has partnered with Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College since 2008 to offer classes for homeless veterans. Transformation Village will continue this partnership by providing 10 classrooms to be used for on-site courses in Allied Health, Internet Technology, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, GED, and Remedial Education.
