SECU Foundation awarded a grant to the Asheville Art Museum Association, Inc. to support the design, renovation and construction of the regional museum located in downtown Asheville. The new Asheville Art Museum facility enhances the Museum’s presentations of American art of the 20th and 21st centuries, while increasing capacity to serve diverse audiences throughout the region. The project included education suite of classrooms and studios, expanded Collection storage, a larger library, upgrades to systems, and new exhibition galleries such as the SECU Collection Hall showcasing around 5,000 pieces from the Museum’s permanent collection of western North Carolina art.
