Community Crossroads Center

Approved by Board of Directors: 2014 and 2024
SECU Foundation partnered with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) to support the construction of Community Crossroads Center by providing a zero percent interest construction loan for the project. For 28 years, Greenville Community Shelter served residents from a school cafeteria/auditorium that was less than adequate for its daily needs. Thorough the collaboration with NCHFA, the Center received funding that allowed a shelter to be built with the capacity to house 100 individuals and 4 families. The Shelter, renamed Community Crossroads Center, moved into its much larger facility in 2015, providing emergency shelter to homeless individuals and families.
In 2024, Community Crossroads Center (CCC) was awarded a $500,000 challenge grant by SECU Foundation to help expand its campus in Pitt County. The construction of a new Homeless Resource Center and renovation of CCC’s current facility will enable the non-profit to increase shelter space and comprehensive services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
