SECU Foundation has provided multi-year funding to assist in the sponsorship of the annual Awards for Excellence honoring state employees for outstanding achievements in Human Relations, Innovations, Outstanding State Government Service, Public Service or Safety and Heroism. The Governor’s Awards for Excellence program was created in 1982 to honor State employees, and is the highest honor a State employee can receive for dedicated service to North Carolina and its citizens.
