North Carolina Freedom Park

SECU Foundation awarded North Carolina Freedom Monument Project a challenge grant for the construction of the first statewide public park honoring African American civil rights leaders and their contributions to our state. North Carolina Freedom Park will be located on a central site in the heart of North Carolina’s capital city between the State Legislative building and the Governor’s Mansion. It is anticipated that thousands of school children will visit the site annually as part of their state Capitol and museums field trips.
