SECU Foundation awarded Salvation Army of the Carolinas a $1 million grant to aid in relief and recovery efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, State Employees’ Credit Union matched the $1 million gift, providing Salvation Army of the Carolinas a total of $2 million in donations. The funding helped the non-profit to deliver critical services and relief (food, shelter, and emergency financial assistance) in response to community needs to North Carolinians across the state impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

In continued support of COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts, SECU Foundation awarded Salvation Army of the Carolinas an additional $1 million grant in December 2020. The grant provided statewide support for Salvation Army to address pressing needs around food insecurity, shelter, and emergency financial assistance for rent and utilities to a growing displaced population in communities across North Carolina as the challenges of the pandemic persist.
