Samaritan Colony
Approved by Board of Directors: July 2021
SECU Foundation awarded Samaritan Colony a $1 million capital grant to expand their campus with the addition of an inpatient treatment facility for women. This funding enables the non-profit to construct a 12,000 square foot, 14-bed residential Women’s Recovery Center in Richmond County while also doubling their organizational capacity. Samaritan Colony was established in 1972 as a chemical dependency treatment facility for men providing ongoing support for underserved individuals who suffer from addiction. Creation of this facility addresses a large geographical gap in treatment and recovery options for women in the Sandhills.
