SECU Foundation provided Tarheel ChalleNGe, Inc. with a grant for the construction of a 60-bed dormitory, SECU Veterans Hall, for female cadets at the Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy II in Stanly County. In addition, SECU Foundation provided a grant for the construction of a boy’s dorm on the Sampson County campus. The Academy is a North Carolina National Guard sponsored volunteer program for high school dropouts. TCA’s program targets the development of North Carolina youth ages 16-18, providing them with tools to help them succeed as adults through educational programs, job skills training and self-discipline.
