Tyvola Crossings - Mecklenburg County
Approved by Board of Directors: March 2013
SECU Foundation teamed up with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) to help Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership (The Housing Partnership) address the lack of affordable housing for low income military veterans and their families. Tyvola Crossing Phase II, a 20-unit apartment complex, opened its doors to residents in August 2015. SECU Foundation supported the project by providing The Housing Partnership with a zero percent interest construction loan to build the apartments. Tyvola Crossings was the first supportive housing development of its kind in Charlotte designated for area veterans in need.
