North Carolina Museum of Art
Approved by Board of Directors: April 2014 and December 2024
SECU Foundation awarded a grant for art education outreach to the North Carolina Museum of Art located in Raleigh. Funding established a vibrant, highly technical Education Center that serves as a portal for accessing the Museum’s world class collections of art, special exhibitions, and educational programs both on-site and virtually throughout NC. The grant provided for a state-of-the-art auditorium, adjacent studio classrooms, and distance learning center, all equipped with the latest technology to share the Museum’s programs and resources statewide and beyond.
In 2024, SECU Foundation announced a $300,000 grant to the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) Foundation to help expand its Artist Innovation Mentorship (AIM) program for middle school youth in rural and underserved areas of North Carolina. With the expansion, the AIM program can reach 1,200 youth annually.
